August 2009::

This is a 'middle-of-August' Latest News... for lots of reasons. Firstly, where on Earth has the first half of the month gone?! And secondly, this is where all the exciting stuff has happened.

So what's the exciting stuff??

For a start the Romance Writers of Australia conference is on this weekend! Everyone's having a fabulous time up there in Brisbane: celebrating, learning, meeting old friends, making new friends! They'll all come away bursting with enthusiasm and motivation!

The second exciting bit of news is that my book is on the shelf Downunder! Right now! I was expecting the Big Day to be Monday but my friend and book-spotter extraordinaire, Serena, saw it on the shelf and sent me this pic.

Naturally I had to get out of my gardening grubbies and go into town for a look. And there is was! So after I'd stood, grinning fatuously at the shelf for ages, Glenn took this picture of me. Do I look pleased with myself or what! LOL

Don't forget, there are two more weeks left on Annie West's great contest!

We're getting some glorious rain here today. Just what the vegetable garden needs - and the timing couldn't be better because I've turned over the soil in the last few days and put down a nice thick straw mulch. So we're all ready to plant.

Today's visitor is this very damp kangaroo having a lovely feed on the green shoots in the orchard.
